The Steppingstone Academy Hartford is HYSF’s primary program; it combines 14-months of rigorous out-of-school and after-school academic enrichment and 5+ years of support services for families and Scholars. Whether Steppingstone Scholars get into an independent school or not, if they complete the 14-month academic component of the program, they get HYSF support services throughout high school. The ultimate goal is college graduation, and we mobilize multiple resources to ensure that Scholars access college regardless of the social and academic challenges they face. A new 26-month model is set to launch during the Summer of 2010 to maximize the preparation of future Scholars.
On Wednesday, March 3rd HYSF will kick off the beginning of our Spring semester. We look forward to implementing our new multidisciplinary curriculum designed to replicate language arts instruction at the independent and high school level.

On March 6th, HYSF will be taking students enrolled in independent schools on a 2-day trip to visit colleges in NYC. In addition, to visiting NYU and Columbia University, HYSF Scholars will participate in the a Leadership Summit and College Fair in partnership with the Independent School Placement Association
